Hey, schön, dass die ein oder andere hier gelandet ist und ein wenig mehr über die Person hinter den Illustrationen und Tätowierungen erfahren will. Ich bin Nadine. Ich lebe und arbeite seit ein paar Jahren in Köln. Nach meinem Studium des “Nachhaltigen Designs” habe ich mich mit meiner Kollegin Natalie zusammen selbstständig gemacht. Seither arbeite ich als Illustratorin und Tätowiererin im Atelier Noir nu.
Mein Stil unterliegt einem stetigen Wandel sowie auch ich mich als Künstlerin immer weiterentwickle. Ein starkes Fundament bildet die klassische Antike mit ihren Mythen, Körperstudien und deren prägnanter Ästhetik. Grundsätzlich inspirieren mich auch die Surrealisten der 1920er Jahre, die aktuelle feministische Bewegung und die Natur, die mich umgibt. Mit ihrer Schönheit bildet sie die ursprünglichste Inspirationsquelle allen menschlichen Schaffens. Technisch bedeutet das: Oneliner-Zeichnungen, die eine komplexere Form auf ihre minimalen Grundattribute reduziert und aus einer einzigen Linie bestehen. Kupferstich-artige Schraffur, die das Dargestellte aussehen lassen wie eine Zeichnung aus einem alten Biologiebuch. Und graphische Designs, die mit klaren Linien, schwarzen Flächen und surrealistischen Elemente an freiere, dadaistische Kollagearbeiten erinnern.
Neben dem Atelier beschäftige ich mich gerne mit allerlei anderen Projekten: Feminismus, Nachhaltigkeit, sozio-Politisches und queere Themen interessieren mich am meisten.
Was ist das Besondere am Tätowieren für mich? Aus dem Bereich der Illustration kommend, empfinde ich es als einen unglaublichen Vertrauensbeweis, wenn jemand mir die eigene Haut als Leinwand zu Verfügung stellt. Für mich ist es besonders schön, meine Zeichnungen für immer auf jemandem verewigen zu dürfen und somit einen kleinen Teil von mir mitzugeben. Ich erfahre viele sehr unterschiedliche, teils traurige, teils schöne, ungewöhnliche Geschichten und darf meinen eigenen Teil zu der jeweiligen beitragen.
Tätowieren bedeutet für mich auch, meine eigenen Gefühle zu kanalisieren und in etwas Autonomes, Positiveres und Stärkeres zu verwandeln. Das ist eine große Stärke dieser kreativen und oft auch (selbst-) therapeutischen Arbeit. Kunst ist für mich einer der größten Autonomie- und Emanzipierungsprozesse. Tätowieren heißt für mich Erinnerungen schaffen, Mahnmale setzen, Menschen schmücken, Spuren hinterlassen.
Meine große Leidenschaft ist: Griechische Mythologie und Aperol Spritz und perfekt kuratierte Playlists für jeden Anlass ;)!

I'm Nadine I have been living and working in Cologne for a few years. After studying "Sustainable Design" I started my own business with my colleague Natalie. Since then I have been working as an illustrator and tattoo artist at Atelier Noir nu.My style is subject to constant change and I am constantly evolving as an artist. Classical antiquity with its myths, body studies and their concise aesthetics forms a strong foundation. Basically, I am also inspired by the surrealists of the 1920s, the current feminist movement and the nature that surrounds me. With its beauty, it forms the most original source of inspiration for all human creativity. Technically this means: Oneliner drawings, which reduce a more complex form to its minimal basic attributes and consist of a single line. Copper engraving-like hatching that makes what is depicted look like a drawing from an old biology book. And graphic designs that are reminiscent of freer, Dadaist collage works with clear lines, black surfaces and surrealistic elements.In addition to the studio, I like to work on all kinds of other projects: Feminism, sustainability and queer topics interest me the most.What is special about tattooing for me? Coming from the field of illustration, I find it an incredible vote of confidence when someone allows me to use their own skin as a canvas. For me it is particularly nice to be able to immortalize my drawings on someone forever and thus give a small part of me to them. I experience many very different, sometimes sad, sometimes beautiful, unusual stories and am allowed to contribute my own part to each one.For me, tattooing also means channeling my own feelings and transforming them into something autonomous, more positive and stronger. This is a great strength of this creative and often also (self-)therapeutic work. For me, art is one of the greatest processes of autonomy and emancipation.
